Leach Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takuya Tominaga; hereinafter “Leach”) made a donation on August 12, 2026, through the National Institute of Technology to the laboratory of Professor Shunsuke Oshima of the Center for Information Education and Security at the Yatsushiro Campus of the National Institute of Technology, Kumamoto College, CEO Tominaga's alma mater.
The 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake on July 28 registered a maximum seismic intensity of 7 in Uki City and Hikawa Town. In Yatsushiro City, the earthquake disrupted daily life through water outages, suspension of city gas service, and the opening of evacuation shelters. We extend our sincere sympathies to everyone affected by the disaster.
Background
Leach is committed to returning a portion of the value created through its business to education and research. In response to the significant impact of the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake on Yatsushiro and its residents, Leach increased the amount of its donation compared with the previous occasion.
Leach designated Professor Oshima's laboratory at Yatsushiro National College of Technology (now the Yatsushiro Campus of Kumamoto Kosen), Tominaga's alma mater and the starting point of his career as an engineer, as the recipient. The donation will contribute to educational and research activities in the laboratory.

I am from Kumamoto City, but I chose Yatsushiro National College of Technology (now the Yatsushiro Campus of Kumamoto Kosen) after hearing that an exceptional educator, Professor Shunsuke Oshima, was there and deciding that I wanted to study under him. Professor Oshima gave me a rigorous grounding in the fundamentals of computer science. Just as importantly, he patiently corrected the many ways in which I still needed to grow as a person. His guidance helped me enormously. The time I spent in his laboratory is where my path began, both as an engineer and as a professional.
Even after I graduated, he continued to look out for me and encourage me at important moments. I am deeply grateful for his guidance.
When I learned how deeply the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake had affected Yatsushiro, I decided to donate a little more than last time. I want to help the community recover, and I want to support students as they continue their research and bring new technology into the world. This donation carries both of those hopes.
As our company grows, we will continue returning the support we received through the results of our business.
