On the Founding of Leach Inc.

On the Founding of Leach Inc.

The initial trigger that drew me into the world of IT was the unique potential of software. Once created, it can be mass-produced endlessly and delivered to people all over the world. This concept is a new form of "monozukuri" (craftsmanship) released from physical constraints. Feeling that it held the power to change the world, I decided to enter a National Institute of Technology (Kosen) instead of a standard high school when I was a junior high student. Since then, I have aspired to transform people's lives with the power of IT.

In recent years, Generative AI and spatial computing (especially the arrival of Apple's Vision Pro) have appeared one after another, bringing a new wave to the industry. This has led to an increase in specific use cases such as "AI Interviewers" that realize efficiency in recruitment activities and "IVRy" that aims to automate call centers, and I feel that the time has come for this technology to contribute to social transformation. Seeing this flow, I was moved by the intuition that "Now is the time to compete in my life!", leading to my decision to retire from Toshiba, where I had worked for many years.

Japan faces serious structural issues such as a declining birthrate and aging population, and a labor shortage due to rapid population decline. To overcome these problems, the utilization of the latest technologies, including Generative AI, is indispensable, and I aim for my technology to be a help in solving them.

What I Gained from Experience at Toshiba

My experience at Toshiba was a great learning opportunity for me. In a workplace that focused on Digital Transformation (DX) and constantly demanded productivity, I experienced many efficiency technologies and learned the possibility of deploying them widely into actual business operations. To contribute to improving productivity across Japan, I realize that spreading these technologies to many companies is the true value of DX.

Going forward, I want to continue conveying the fun and power of IT to local industries and people's lives.

Thoughts Put into Leach

The name Leach contains my own feelings and the vision I aim for.

  1. To be an existence that blends in naturally
"Leach" has the meaning of "permeating, gradually penetrating." I aim for products that blend into life, exist naturally like air, and stay close to people's lives as something they would be troubled without.
  2. Inspiration from my individuality
I have a chronic condition called otitis media with effusion (leach), and this "effusion" is also one of the origins of Leach. I put in the thought that I want to make use of my own characteristics and send out unique products to the world in the same way.
  3. Reach – To reach customers
Leach can also be read as "Reach" in Katakana. This is a wish to Reach customers and be a product that reaches the people it should. I also chose a name that feels Japanese, not being too particular about the difference in pronunciation between L and R.

Future We Aim For

In summary, Leach aims to "deliver unique products that naturally blend into life, into the hands of customers." By creating products and services that adapt to the new era and enrich people's lives, I hope to shape the future together with you all.

Taking the first step as Leach, we will push forward with all our might aiming for a future where IT and people's lives become more integrated.
