Won "The Biggest Engineering Lift" at YCombinator Hackathon

On March 8, 2026, Takuya Tominaga, CEO of Leach, Inc., and his team won "The Biggest Engineering Lift — Most technically involved" at the YCombinator (YC) hackathon "c0mpiled" held in Tokyo.

About YCombinator

YCombinator (YC) is the world's most influential startup accelerator, having backed companies such as Airbnb, Stripe, Dropbox, Coinbase, and Reddit. With an acceptance rate of around 1%, any association with YC is widely regarded as a mark of credibility in the startup world.

"c0mpiled" was a hackathon organized by YC in Tokyo, co-sponsored by UTokyoIPC (UTokyo Innovation Platform) and Mori Building.

Project Overview

A team of four international members, assembled on the day of the event, built "Origin" — tackling an ambitious theme at the intersection of finance and AI agents. The team designed and implemented an architecture that orchestrates multiple AI agents in parallel.

Team

The team was assembled on the spot at the venue: a University of Toronto Ph.D. candidate, a Vietnam-born engineer based in Japan, a college student engineer from Silicon Valley, and our CEO — forming a well-balanced team of 3 engineers and 1 business lead.

About the Award

Judges had no negative feedback on the project and praised its technical ambition and execution. The well-balanced mix of business and development expertise in the team enabled a highly polished product within a short timeframe.
